State-of-the-art solutions for fast, effective care.
Bunker Vein and Imaging Center in Austin, TX provides a full range of today’s most advanced and effective treatments for varicose and spider veins. Performing state-of-the-art minimally invasive, image-guided procedures right here at our center, Dr. Bunker strives for optimal outcomes with the least amount of treatment impact, a rapid return to your life and attractive legs that feel great!
Endovenous laser therapy (EVLT) – From within the poorly functioning vein itself, Dr. Bunker uses laser-light energy to heat the vein wall, after which the vein closes. As it begins to be absorbed naturally into the body, other veins take over the return of nutrient- and oxygen-depleted blood to the heart.
Venefit™ targeted endovenous therapy – Formerly called VNUS ClosureFAST, Dr. Bunker most commonly performs this procedure, which is much like the laser technique but uses radiofrequency (RF) energy. Research suggests this technique is faster and easier on patients. For more on the Venefit procedure, click here.
Sclerotherapy – For residual varicosities, reticular, veins and spider veins, Dr. Bunker precisely injects medication that irritates the vein wall, causing it to collapse. Underlying venous insufficiency must first be ruled out or treated to ensure the success of this modality.
Topical laser treatments – Dr. Bunker heats and seals surface spider veins unrelated to underlying venous insufficiency using light-energy to achieve excellent results quickly.
Conservative therapies – Conservative approaches, such as elevating the leg or wearing compression stockings can be helpful (depending on level of venous dysfunction) or may be required by insurance before authorizing a different treatment.
